Based on the married couple Olga Spolarics and Adorjan Wlássics, Atelier Manassé was active in Vienna between 1922 – 1938. Two words can characterize the photographic output of Manassé: glamour and eroticism. Divas and Lovers is the titel of the book about Atelier Manassé.

My first encounter with August Sander‘s photographs was at the Getty Center in 2008. I was amazed by his portraits and would like to get a new chance to see his prints in real life. I especially like the portraits taken in the German society before the second world war. This book is on my wish list!

If you live in Stockholm, visit Matbaren and Mattias Dahlgrens Matsal at Grand Hotel where Studio Ilse done the interior design. In London she’s behind the cute Aesop shop at 91 Mount Street (see picture above).
